
The Challenge:
As part of a broader future-of-work strategy, this global mining company set out to build an entirely new internal learning organization from the ground up, one built to prepare its technical workforce, across disciplines like mining, processing, safety, and business improvement, for a fast-changing industry. There was no existing technical learning organization to lean on: learning journeys, content, delivery models, and even an understanding of the underlying technology needed to be designed at once, at a scale and pace the client's internal team could not reach alone.
The Solution:
C-Shift embedded instructional designers directly into the new learning organization as discipline learning partners, working side by side with subject matter experts to build the learning experience from the ground up. The result was a functioning technical learning organization where none had existed before, delivering blended learning journeys, web-based training, instructor-led sessions, microlearning, and on-the-job support across disciplines including Mining, Processing, Elimination of Fatalities, Business Improvement, Mine Closure, and Project Management. C-Shift's early input into the client's learning technology roadmap meant the organization scaled on tools built for its actual needs from day one.
